A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Remember when in school we used to sleepover sometimes? Well, staying at Cottonwood Bed & Breakfast House brings back those memories. It’s not like staying in a hotel, it’s like staying at your best friend’s house, but with a full-service experience. The warm and friendly atmosphere, plus lovely interior design made us fall in love with the hotel.

Another thing we love about this bed & breakfast is their attention to details. When we first arrived, we got the room key plus a cute little envelope filled with breakfast coupons for the morning after. When we entered the room, two glass and a tall bottle of water were ready at the bedside table. The TV and AC remote controls were tucked in a pouch on the other bedside table. Two pairs of slippers are ready near the door.

The room itself wasn’t too big, but it’s fair size. The only problem we had maybe the bed. We can’t hardly move out from the bed…..because it was too comfortable (in a positive way, of course). After a long day, i think nothing beats the soft, fluffy bed and pillows. Outside in the hallway, they decorated the wall with framed photos and ilustrations, boxes, and small artificial flowers. cottonwood-exp-6

For breakfast time, we got to make our own toast with a cup of coffee or tea. Then came a big portions of yellow rice with egg and tempe. Enjoying it at the dining area with wooden table and wheeled-wooden-box as its chairs.

Our giveaway winner, Razan, was gladly occupied the Popple Room, already filled with special hampers from our beloved sponsors.

Near the entrance of the hotel, there’s a wired bulletin board full of postcards filled with comments from satisfied customers. Love the idea of tying those postcards or clip it with wooden pin to the wire. It’s a great ideas of using framed chicken wire as a bulletin board. (Psst..you can also decorate the wooden pin with masking tape for an extra coolness)

The Crafty Days was amazing, the hotel was simply beautiful. The city itself had a nice weather..(well, it was rainy..but we didn’t mind :D ). It was a lovely lovely weekend.

myra and ecang | bedroom | jakarta

Paint your walls white and you can choose any colors you feel right. This is why we really heart Myra and Ecang’s bedroom. Their plain white painted bedroom blends with amazing pops of colors. And this bedroom filled with interesting stuff too, and some of them are DIYs. Myra showed us her DIY wall clock, and it’s really really pretty. Then we pointed at this cute tissue cover, Myra told us it was Ecang’s DIY thing. Don’t worry, we’ll give you a full story of these DIY things later. ;)

Thank you Myra and Ecang for this lovely nest tour. Oh, and we can not forget those super yummy meatballs and marmalade.

hearts,

I’d never planned to throw a birthday party when my daughter, Kira, turned one couple months ago. We did plan to celebrate her first anniversary with our family. My parents, my brothers and my husband’s sisters. When we counted the numbers of our family, I was a bit surprised. Turned out the guests would be around 20 persons.

I thought well this would be like a mini party. So, I started to think about a few gimmicks to give a little special feel for us and the guests. So, this is how I prepared my daughter’s first anniversary celebration.

Theme

Yes it was a little party but it would be nice if we had a theme or at least a color theme. I picked orange for the main color, simply because Kira’s full name is Kirana Langit Jingga (Jingga means orange), and I really didn’t have much time to pick any unique theme because the I only had 4-5 days to prepare.

Goodie Bags

We have 5 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 little cousin. So, I needed to prepare at least eight goodie bags. I didn’t really favor cartoon theme goodie bag, so I went to Pasar Mayestik and bought brown paper bag instead (Rp. 12.000/dozen) and wrote the name of each kid with crayon on one side and ‘number one’ on the other side.  I planned to replace the white rope handle with braided wool strings, but had no time to do it.

Free Printable Supplies

Internet and those generous bloggers are my saviors. I visited Tom Kat Studio and downloaded their printable chevron circles and flags for plastic cups and cakes, and their mini bunting for the birthday cake. Then I downloaded the printable paper bunting from Ruffled.

I also downloaded printable paper dolls from various sources for kids activities.  And I put one of the doll on the guest thumbprint.

Thumbprint

I loved this thumbprint guest book idea here so I made one. It’s easy, you only need watercolor paint, paper and a pen if you want to draw it by yourself. I didn’t really have the time to think and draw, so I just paint half part of the paper orange and yellow. Then I just glued one of the paper dolls and draw a few strings. I asked each guests to leaf their thumb with watercolor paint. Do not forget to provide a glass of water so the guest can clean their thumb easily.

Photo Display

We thought it would be cute to display some of our Instagram photos of Kira. Instead of using a board, I used a hoop and lace bands. I only had white hoop. The hoop is actually a part of our IKEA bed canopy. I bought the lace bands at Toko Maju, Pasar Mayestik for Rp3000-Rp5000/meter.

HELLO LOVELY PEOPLE!

collagenm

Two girls. Two different taste of music, movies and even fashion.

These days, there’s no such thing as true original. But, we’ll try to give you a bit of a local twist and valuable information. Living Loving akan menjadi semacam jurnal kreatif kami, dan semoga bisa menjadi referensi untuk teman-teman.
