WE LOVE: CITY OF COLORS

You might familiar with Diela Maharanie and her illustrations. I first spotted her vibrant colored paintings when I was at Kopi Keliling, an art and coffee exhibition event held by a friend of mine, 3 years ago.

If you visit her Facebook page  you’ll find out that this accountant-turned-illustrator loves to combine candy like colors with pattern. No wonder a lot of her artworks has caught many many eyes around the world.

Diela used to draw female figures. So it was a rare thing when she published ‘a city landscape filled with colors and flying balloons’ artwork on her Instagram. But it really was a picture that could make a heart happy. I contacted her immediately and ordered one. I put this beautiful tiny city in my daughter’s room, and I’m thinking of ordering another Diela’s artwork for our future living room. :)

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Remember when in school we used to sleepover sometimes? Well, staying at Cottonwood Bed & Breakfast House brings back those memories. It’s not like staying in a hotel, it’s like staying at your best friend’s house, but with a full-service experience. The warm and friendly atmosphere, plus lovely interior design made us fall in love with the hotel.

Another thing we love about this bed & breakfast is their attention to details. When we first arrived, we got the room key plus a cute little envelope filled with breakfast coupons for the morning after. When we entered the room, two glass and a tall bottle of water were ready at the bedside table. The TV and AC remote controls were tucked in a pouch on the other bedside table. Two pairs of slippers are ready near the door.

The room itself wasn’t too big, but it’s fair size. The only problem we had maybe the bed. We can’t hardly move out from the bed…..because it was too comfortable (in a positive way, of course). After a long day, i think nothing beats the soft, fluffy bed and pillows. Outside in the hallway, they decorated the wall with framed photos and ilustrations, boxes, and small artificial flowers. cottonwood-exp-6

For breakfast time, we got to make our own toast with a cup of coffee or tea. Then came a big portions of yellow rice with egg and tempe. Enjoying it at the dining area with wooden table and wheeled-wooden-box as its chairs.

Our giveaway winner, Razan, was gladly occupied the Popple Room, already filled with special hampers from our beloved sponsors.

Near the entrance of the hotel, there’s a wired bulletin board full of postcards filled with comments from satisfied customers. Love the idea of tying those postcards or clip it with wooden pin to the wire. It’s a great ideas of using framed chicken wire as a bulletin board. (Psst..you can also decorate the wooden pin with masking tape for an extra coolness)

The Crafty Days was amazing, the hotel was simply beautiful. The city itself had a nice weather..(well, it was rainy..but we didn’t mind :D ). It was a lovely lovely weekend.

EVENT: CRAFTY DAYS #7

Remember when I said Bandung is a creative city? This Crafty Days event held by Tobucil & Klabs is another proof of that premise. Handmade goods, crafty workshops, yummy delights, soothing music performances, what more can you ask? All of those things makes Crafty Days listed as one of the must-see event every year, especially for craft enthusiasts.

Crafty Days was usually held at Tobucil’s own front yard. This year it was held at a bigger venue, Gedung Indonesia Menggugat. Bigger venue means more tenant, and this year tenants are amazing! You can find almost anything, from bags to accessories, T-shirts to scarfs, dolls to telephone, even recycled furniture and mushroom!

MY FIRST CAMERA!

canon-s5is-1

Saya memakainya sekitar tahun 2007-2010. Saya sering banget bawa kamera ini meski body-nya gendut dan suka menuh-menuhin isi tas. Continue reading

COLOR PALETTE: I CAN FLY

A child’s world is so colorful and full of imagination. That two factor was perfectly captured in this children book by Clara Ng. The funny story inside meets a lovable illustration by eMTe, makes it superfun to read by a toddler or even an adult! Besides that, we think that almost every kid dreamt about being able to fly, right? What about you? What was your colorful dream when you were a kid?LL-palet-clara1
