I always have a thing about stationeries. Among other stationery items, notebook and sketchbook are my biggest weaknesses. I kept buying them even when my current notebook still had lots of empty pages.
Nike and I always keep a notebook in our bag. Sometimes we even have 2-3 kinds of notebook for different purposes. For example, work-related and personal notes are separated. I also have one pocket “gado-gado” notebook to write down my ideas or anything that I find interesting so I won’t forget it. We believe that writing something down will allow us memorize things. We can even say that it really is a very effective method. Back in school days, we were that kind of students who prefer to jotted down our exam materials rather than trying to memorize it over and over.
Both of us prefer blank notebook pages so we can write and draw on it. Like this Jakarta themed blank notebook from Heimlo that Nike uses to capture her ideas for a tapestry weaving design.
First time I saw Heimlo’s product was at a booth in Market & Museum a couple of months ago. Their notebook with “sate ayam” illustration on the cover caught my eyes. They have several products ranging from notebook, calendars, to tote bag, with cool illustration themes, like the Jakarta series, street food series, and modern retro ephemera street journal (which is my favorite, especially the yellow and dark blue).
What about you? What kind of notebook that you like?

Dear LivingLoving, Both my daughter( 6 yrs ) and I, also have weakness about notebooks. Moleskins are good. But lately, I kinda reminiscent about AA or Locomotif buku tulis which I had during the elementary schools.
